Wedding Albums

One thing I love almost more than wedding photography itself is a good wedding album!  I know everybody wants the digital files to share on FB and email to friends, but there is nothing like a good “old fashion” album. Now the albums that I use are not your grandparent’s wedding album. These are beautiful, flush mount albums with the option to have a picture on the cover, leather, exotic, leather or cloth. The main bridal albums are offered in 10×10 or 12×12 sizes. I also offer parent albums in 8×8  or larger.

Melanie & Dewey

It is very rare that we have beautiful, not completely freezing, January days here in the DC area.  Thank goodness the weather decided to cooperate for me this weekend. The morning started out a little windy and a bit chilly but who cares with the crazy sunny blue sky we had. About halfway through our session it warmed up a little more but…  maybe that’s because I was running up and down the stairs at the National Harbor. If you have never been to the National Harbor first thing in the morning, go! It is quiet and beautiful and on a day like yesterday, perfect views of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and Old Town Alexandria. Anyway, I had a great time photographing Melanie and Dewey yesterday! Oh and thank you so much, Dewey, for smiling even though you were feeling very under the weather! I hope to see you guys soon!

Experimenting with film… Again!

As most people know… or maybe not, I learn photography when film was still cool. After working with digital for the past 7 years, my heart and the artist in me has been craving some old school film photography! I feel like digital has made me a little lazy to be honest and not as creative as I once felt.  So… I’m taking it back a little and as I shoot it more film, I hope to post more! Hopefully I will start offering film sessions as an alternative in the new year!

Enjoy!

This is Meredith and Crystaline! Two of my photography sisters. We try to meet up every Tuesday just to have breakfast, catch up with each other and just support each other in our photography growth. I’m so happy I met them last summer and I absolutely love these ladies!

This set of pictures is from our day trip to Ocean City, Maryland. I decide to drag my film camera along to see what I would get! I didn’t shoot as much as I thought I would only because I had to keep my 2 year old from eating the sand!

Brandi and Steve – Oxon Hill Manor

This year I have had the pleasure of second shooting with the fabulous photographer Marta Locklear of  Marta Locklear Photography. She is simply amazing, a ton of fun, a great teacher and so happy to call her a friend!

Here are a few of the pictures I took while helping her out with this beautiful wedding. Check out her blog to see more from this wedding: Brandi & Steve

Here I am trying Marta’s famous “shooting yourself in the mirror” shot! I haven’t quite perfected it but I got her to pose with me in one. I swear this woman doesn’t take a bad picture!
