Behind the Super Hero Shoot with Doug Sonders!
May 2nd, 2011What happens when you have a group of photographers, a good looking guy in super hero costume, and some villians??? A good time, a whole lot of laughs, and ton of creativity! My kind of people. Anybody that really knows me knows that I love meeting new people no matter what they do for a career but I loooooove other creatives. Easter Sunday

On the way home, the afternoon thunderstorm clouds started to roll in but the sun found a peek through every now and again. She said YES…. Melanie and Dewey
April 18th, 2011What a beautiful Sunday to witness such a beautiful moment. I was so excited when Dewey called to ask if I would take pictures of him proposing to his girlfriend! Um…. heck yeah! What girl doesn’t like a good love story and I would get to photograph it!
The staff at The Hillwood Estate Museum and Gardens was so great and I think every single staff member was in on the surprise! When all was said and done, Melanie was very surprised and I think even more surprised to see 2 photographers and a videographer jump out of the bushes! LOL Dewey did and AWESOME job putting this special day together. Congratulations to you both!

Early Morning Finger Paint!
April 16th, 2011I think as adults we forget how to have fun. I have to say that my son keeps teaching me everyday to step back and just enjoy life!
It’s raining today and my engagement shoot has been rescheduled for tomorrow. So I decided to crack open the finger paint my husband bought for our son for Christmas. Anybody that knows me, knows that this is a huge step for me. I hate messes! LOL Messy hands that can get all over my walls and furniture, UGH! You get to the point as a parent when you really realize, it’s not all about you. We always give him crayons to play with but at his school they use finger paints and he loves it… so what the heck…. painting it is! We got a little messy but it didn’t really matter. He had fun and I even joined in after I put my camera down.
I am learning to be a kid again!

Ab’s Great Music
April 15th, 2011I love this guy! He is such an amazing person, a fellow artist, and a talented musician!
Man… The 3 days we decided to have this shoot, were three of the coldest days in DC this winter. On the third day it snowed! 90% of our shoot was outside and I have to give some much credit to Ab for hanging in there with the 17 degree weather and the 20 mph wind gust. Hell in a few of our sets he only had on a tee shirt! I was lucky enough to have on my ski coat, gloves and my knee high socks with a ton of hand warms placed all over my body! LOL
Anyway, I had such a great time with this shoot despite the weather. We had a great team of people to work with and every body enjoyed themselves.

Baby James- Sneak Peek

Nunn/Wyche Family!
January 23rd, 2011My BFF (I never us that acronym) wanted to to do some family pictures for Christmas. So of course when she called me I said OF COURSE!
We actually did this New Years Eve and it was cold! I am happy that everybody hung in there, smiled and had fun.

Summer’s Twins
January 23rd, 2011Well… not really Summer’s twins (the season) but Summer’s twins. Summer is the beautiful lady in these pictures, who looks absolutely fabulous at 35 weeks pregnant! You know that glow that pregnant women are supposed to have; I didn’t have it, but she really did!
We were originally suppose to have our session on Monday the 17th of January but the DC area was hit with a pretty big ice storm. Needless to say, we had to reschedule and find a date that worked for both of us and her husband. We agreed on Friday the 21st but I was a little nervous because once again DC was in the path of a major snow storm. Thank goodness we did not have a lick of snow that Friday morning! It was sunny and beautiful. I guess things work out how they are supposed to. I got an email from Summer’s sister (who was my midwife when I was pregnant) on Sunday morning saying that Summer is now the proud mommy of twin girls. 5 weeks early but very healthy! I can not wait to met these beautiful babies. Her 18 month old daughter Louisa is absolutely gorgeous and I know she is going to be a wonderful big sister!
